ALL people want to be loved. The stumbling blocks come when we want others to love us, but WE are unwilling to love us!

Many times we think that by “loving others” – which usually translates to “caretaking” – or “doing for others what they can do for themselves” (co-dependency) – we will get what we want: to feel loved.

When I initially begin working with clients and ask, “tell me how you are loving yourself?” – most give me a blank stare, like I have just invited them to leap the tallest building in their home town. Then comes a response similar to, “well, I love others and that is what I am supposed to be doing, isn't it?”
